Sarah Uganda Mission Trip
In late February 2016, I will go on my very first international mission trip to Uganda in Africa. My church, Redemption Church in Augusta, Georgia, has an established partnership with Sojourn Church in the Wabigalo area of Kampala. We will be assisting the church staff and volunteers in their ongoing ministries to their community, to include cleanup and service projects and participation in their family and athletic ministries. For more about what the church is doing in the community, visit sojournuganda.org. A portion of our team will travel to a rural clinic to bring supplies and assist at the facility, as needed. After returning from our trip, the team will continue to seek support for the church and clinic in Uganda, providing financial support that will help with children’s education, ministries and health care. I will have the unique experience of being able to see what God is doing in the lives of His people overseas.
Why I am going: I truly have felt called to go on this trip. I am nervous and excited and in awe of everything that lies ahead of me. I have heard from people that have previously taken this trip and am pulled toward the community building that is happening. I look forward to coming back and being able to share firsthand the vision for the ministry to these people and for the aid and care that we are helping the church provide.
Why I am writing: Any mission trip is not without cost, so I am asking for your support. Most importantly, I am asking you to pray for me as our team trains and prepares for our trip. There will be physical and spiritual opposition to prevent this trip from occurring, and your prayers are essential to our trip’s success. I have included a picture of my husband, Wes, my daughter, Ruby, and myself at right. Pray for them as I am overseas. Financially, I am also asking for your support. Between now and February 1, I need to raise $2,000. You may donate online via Paypal via this link. Please email Sarah to get more information about mailing in a donation. Prayerfully consider how you can be a part of this important mission trip by donating the amount the Lord leads you to contribute. No amount is too small or too great and is appreciated.
In closing: Upon our return in early March, our team will have the opportunity during church to report on our trip to Uganda. I would like to invite you to that time so that you may share in what the Lord will have done in the lives of our Ugandan brothers and sisters. I will send the date and time for this event in a future correspondence. I want to thank you for taking the time to read this letter and letting me share my heart for God’s people. I know that you will pray for my team members and me as we embark on this adventure. I look forward to telling you all of the amazing work God will have accomplished on this mission trip. Thank you!
