We have a 19-month-old!

December 26th, 2010. Published under General News. No Comments.

Today Ruby got to experience snow again, on her 19-month birthday. It snowed on Valentine’s day and stuck, and it’s look that way again 10 months later. Ruby must be good luck, because this is the most times I’ve seen it snow since I’ve been in Augusta. I wish she would stop trying to grab my iPhone when I’m trying to capture memories. :)

Christmas yesterday was wonderful! Ruby had a great time with family and was spoiled with the most amazing gifts. We are blessed to have so much of Wes’ family close. It makes for some special memories.

Happy Christmas 2010

Life has left us a little busy to post to the blog! We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and New Year. Ruby is 18 months of non-stop energy. Wes is still working at Augusta Sportswear and doing some freelance design work on the side. Sarah is enjoying staying at home SO MUCH and also works from home part time for a private school.

We have been through a lot this year, and because of that, we have each learned a lot. Below are a few things that each of us have learned this year.

Ruby has learned -

  • How to walk, run, climb and stomp
  • Using a fork and spoon can be fun AND messy
  • A big appreciation for being outdoors. She’s a nature baby.
  • To appreciate many foods | Triscuts, Sunchips, Blueberries, Pancakes, Life Cereal, Raisins, Oatmeal, Applesauce, and Mandarin Oranges are some of her favorites.
  • To love trips to the zoo and animals in general

and so much more!

Sarah has learned -

  • How incredibly blessed we are in so many ways
  • To try not to be so hung up about germs, boogers, and food all over Ruby and me
  • To say “No!” in a firm, adult-like voice. But she doesn’t like saying it! It would be much easier to give in.
  • Ruby, like her father, enjoys quality time over a quantity of people. It’s hard for Sarah to understand, but she’s learning to compromise.
  • It is okay to say “I cant,” “No,” and “I need help.”

Wes has learned -
To get to things as he can, and spend quality time with his girls when he can. I’m sure we will update this for him soon. But I needed to make this post. xoxo – love you, babe!

We were in the local paper in November.

So Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Love to you all, especially my Corbaley family that I won’t see except for by video chat. I miss you guys!

Baby Update

May 18th, 2009. Published under baby, General News. No Comments.

Wes and I went to the doctor this week and our baby is still in the breech position, so… The doctor has scheduled me for a c-section on 5/26 at 12:45 p.m. This is not 100% set in stone, the baby may turn over any time before that, and if that happens, we will cancel the scheduled appt. and let me go into labor naturally.

So, we’ll keep the updates coming. Once we get to the hospital, Wes will be updating wesandsarah.com often with photos and status updates, as well as if this baby is a BOY or a GIRL! We cannot wait to meet them and can’t believe it could but just over a week away.

Please be praying for a safe delivery and healthy baby. Love you all!

I won SXSW registration!

For the past two years I have had the opportunity at work to travel out to Austin, TX for the South by Southwest Interactive festival. The festival is arguably the one of the biggest and most fun gatherings of web professionals each year. It’s been a huge learning experience and inspiration for me on each trip. The dates for this year’s conference are March 9-13.
SXSW sends out an email announcement highlighting the latest confirmed speakers and seminars each month that includes a trivia question that, if answered correctly, enters you into a drawing for free registration to the event. I usually try to enter hoping that one month I might be the winner. I found out this weekend that this month I WON!!!

We never quite got around to taking our Christmas photo so here’s a camera phone shot of us at the Columbia airport on our way out to California (blogged from the airport’s free wireless while we wait for boarding.) Hope you all have a Happy Christmas!
